Department of Education Graduate Student (DEGS) Club
About
The graduate students in education club is designed to provide a space along with events and activities that serve to bring together graduate students in education at MSU so that they may share information, educate, and support one another in their graduate education and professional lives along with educating the larger community on issues in the field of higher education.
This student club is open to anyone, but graduate students within education fields at MSU may be most interested in this club.

The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) invites ALL education students to become members. Our organization is a global community dedicated to excellence in learning, teaching, and leading.
Mission
Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to promote the success of each child. ASCD provides expert and innovative solutions in professional development and educational leadership essential to the way educators learn, teach, and lead.
Meeting Times/Dates
Meetings happen 4 times a year.
- End of January or early February "Ten Strategies to Consider When Working With Parents."
- Early April a person from OPI will talk about the CCSS and possibly other topics.
Application
To apply, pick up a membership form outside of Reid 121 where Lynn Kelting-Gibson (faculty advisor) will answer any questions you may have. Membership is $29.

Kappa Delta Pi
About
By becoming a part of MSU Kappa Delta Pi, members gain immediate access to a wealth
of professional development, networking, and leadership
building resources. Past events have included panel discussions, educator film showings,
chapter socials and literacy outreach service events. KDP members immediately become
part of a vast network of professional educators committed to furthering the advancement
of education and supporting the development of global citizens.

Mission
Kappa Delta Pi is an international education honor society founded in 1911 with the expressed mission of, “striving to sustain an honored community of diverse educators by promoting excellence and advancing scholarship, leadership, and service.”

Application
Membership is open to all MSU education majors who have completed at least 12 credits within their program of study and hold a 3.5 GPA or higher for Undergraduate students and a 3.75 GPA for Graduate students. Our chapter holds a new member initiation ceremony each semester to welcome new inductees and connect with members of the greater MSU academic community. An annual membership dues of $55 (national & local combined) will be assessed to help support KDP programming, scholarships and member outreach efforts.

Our student chapter is composed of students preparing and advancing their skills to become exceptional future teachers.
We focus on professional development though service projects, conversation about current events in the teaching realm, and attending the various professional development conferences for educators around the state.
We are a group for ALL educators: elementary-secondary, and all areas of concentration.

When and where are your organization meetings held?
We meet once a month, typically the third Tuesday of every month, in Reid 223. Meetings for fall semester 2019 are September 17th, October 1st, November 5, and December 3rd.
Do you have any requirements to be a member? If yes, what are they?
There are no requirements to be a member!
How much are membership fees or dues?
There are no fees to be a part of our student chapter.

Sustainable Foods and Bioenergy System Collaborate (formally Friends of Local Foods) is a student group at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. We promote awareness of local food issues on the campus and in the Bozeman community.
